Have to purchase each magazine.

App will not open in iPad Air. Shows in App Store as downloaded and has an Open icon, but clicking it does nothing. Apple is no help and NG has no answers.

Everytime I start it it crashes and when I try to buy a magazine it crashes

Im very disappointed in the newest update. NG promised in the last email I received that this newest update (1.7) will fix the issue that users cannot download the July issue. If this is not fixed in a timely manner I will be requesting my money back.

this is a great interactive digital magazine with the WORST app support in the history of app support. If you have any problems expect ZERO help from the national geographic app division. Multiple emails will get you absolutely nothing in return for your efforts, not even a generic mass produced thank you for your interest email. 3 emails over one month with no reply yet.

It used to work a while ago. It just refuses now to download any past or current subscription issues

I love my National Geographic subscription and was very excited to see you there was app so that I can look at the digital magazine right on my iPad. Unfortunately it will not download properly and will not store the magazines I downloaded from the site. This is very frustrating and very unfortunate. Someone please fix this!

This App is HORRIBLE. And no one at NG is willing to take responsibility. Whoever attempted to create this App is undoubtedly laughing all the way to the bank. Even my print edition isnt arriving in the proper timely manner. DONT subscribe at all - much less aggravating to simply buy it at the actual newsstand.

I tried some months ago. I am trying again, but cant this to work on iPad. Very disappointing. I would have expected much better from National Geographic (which is after all an excellent magazine).

This is by far the best magazine app in iTunes. The interactivity, the stunning graphics, the videos and photos are all world-leading. I have left behind the print edition for the iPad version and I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Flawless!!

I agree with everyone else about this was a fantastic app for viewing National Geographic that the last update messed up. I couldnt open the July issue and emails to support were ignored. Solution... Delete the app, turn off my iPad, turn it back on, reinstall the app and everything seems to be fine. A nuisance, but hopefully this helps others. Now looking forward to continued great reading!

I really enjoy the high quality content of the magazines, and I think the app works well enough for what it is. The only thing I feel its lacking is a preview of what is discussed/shown in the magazines before purchasing them. Otherwise, everything works fairly well!

Its pretty tough to find the right time and place to just pick up a national geographic nowadays, so having it on my phone is pretty convenient. I mean, Ive never regret reading interesting facts and a worldly-knowledge of things is useful. Recommended

Fails to download recent issue in ios 8.x.x It used to be great now all issues have disappeared and wont download!

I love reading my Nat Geos. Once I discovered I could read them on my iPhone 6, I was thrilled to have such a big screen at my disposal to read the Nat Geos whenever I wanted to without carrying the magazine with me. The interactive pieces are amazing, and connecting with social media to view other pieces that didnt make the cut is definitely cool. HOWEVER... And I stress the "however", the lack of scroll memory is VERY frustrating. Its difficult to scroll through an article every single time you open it back up because you were reading in short spurts. The article takes you back to the top every time you exit the article... Very very frustrating. Iphone 6 support has not yet arrived. I feel like Im looking at my dads iPhone because of the text size on the screen. The smallest text size is still way too big. Worth it if you want to look at very short articles, but not worth it for the main attraction (the long articles).

*sigh*. Seems like every couple of months I am compelled to vent my frustration about this app. The fact I keep using it is a testament to how much I love national geographic magazine, even though it is one of the most frustrating apps Ive ever used. Why do the articles refresh back to the top?!! Insert string of horribly descriptive and offensive expletives. The side scrolls on a hair trigger, and if you accidentally scroll sideways instead of down, you lose your place. If you exit the app, you lose your place, if your device goes to sleep, you lose your place. You guys had it right like 5 versions ago, when the articles where formatted as pages you could flip... Looks like youre never going to address this, and Im sure Ill be back in another few months when my frustration reaches its boiling point again. In closing, one last exceptionally horrible expletive. I used to love reading National Geographic on my phone. However, the latest app update does not save your place when you exit the app. Makes for an extremely frustrating user experience. Whats the use of a fancy new interface when you have to spend an extra few minutes scrolling through an article to find where you left off reading last time? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Here we are 3 months later... No fix yet. It would be a 5 star app if it would only NOT FREAKIN REFRESH BACK TO THE TOP OF AN ARTICLE EVERY TIME YOU EXIT OR YOUR DEVICE GOES TO SLEEP!!! Soooooooooo INFURIATING!!! Please fix it :( Here we are again. Youd think they wouldve used the update to ios8 as an opportunity to fix the INFURIATINGLY FRUSTRATING lack of scroll memory. Nope... Still resets back to the top of every article if u exit the app, or even accidentally switch pages. This is the only difference between this being a one star or a five star app.

The scroll issue is HUGE. I will NOT be buying anything from your corporate entities until its fixed. The app is to touchy and constantly refreshes to the top of the the article. Horrible app erasing it right now.

Note to subscribers, NG digital is great if used on iPad but it is a big downer for it supports only landscape format, that is holding the iPad horizontally (great to view the NG photos). You can not view the magazine on portrait format which is better for plain text reading (as you would normally do when handling a magazine in your hands), that is holding the iPad vertically. Also, Dear God forbids you have to cancel the subscription, OMG. They give you the turns of your life thru e-mails. If you dare to call to their 800 number, the make you wait, wait and wait, listen to their horrible elevator music, after 35 min on line waiting, some dumb as picks the phone and cuts the line! Really guys? How many callers you get standing in line on a wendsday afternoon at a supper hour of 17h20pm? Really?

Although my annual subscription ends in April 2016, i cant download the January 2015 issue of National Geographic Magazine. It shows a ERROR button instead of a DOWNLOAD button. Hope that there is a solution to this problem! Thanks in advance

Same problem. Jan 2016 shows "error". Wont download.
